Local Politicians visit Birches Primary School

2nd Oct 2025

On Thursday 2nd October Mr Buckley from the DUP and Mr Beattie from the Ulster Unionist Party came to Birches Primary School. All the children from primary four to primary seven listened carefully to their advice on how to get people to vote for you. Both politicians explained what a manifesto is and what personal qualities you need to be elected. At the end of their presentations the children asked lots of questions to the visitors and received valuable advice from them. We are very grateful for the time Mr Buckley and Mr Beattie took out of their busy schedules to help and inspire the children. Birches Primary School will be electing their first Student Council in a few weeks. Everyone will be writing their own manifestos and the first class vote will be on Friday 17th October. The top three boys and girls in each class will go through to the main election day on Thursday 23rd October.
